Their article entitled, New Rhode Island Law Requires Employers to Provide Paid Sick Leave, provides an overview and key highlights of the new law. Partner Matthew C. Reeber was interviewed for an article entitled, #MeToo reshaping landscape for sexual harassment claims, that was published in Lawyers Weekly, Rhode Island and Massachusetts editions. The article takes a deep dive into changes in sexual harassment claims since the #MeToo movement began and examines the value of updating workforce policies and training for employees among other topics. Attorneys Rebecca M. Murphy and Samantha M. Vasques co-authored a comprehensive article entitled, A New Hope: Tortious Interference with an Expected Inheritance in Rhode Island, which was published in the Roger Williams University Law Review. The article details the genesis and development of tortious or wrongful interference with an expected inheritance and highlights differences in the approach states take regarding torts requirements as well as damages available to victims. It also discusses a RI Superior Court ground breaking decision that recognized for the first time in the state's history the independent tort of tortious interference with an expected inheritance.
