PLDO Attorneys Samantha Clarke and Patrick J. McBurney to Present at the 2017 RI Bar Association Annual Meeting
Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC (PLDO) Associates Samantha Clarke and Patrick J. McBurney will participate in a seminar entitled “Court-Annexed Arbitration: Everything You Need to Know” at the Rhode Island Bar Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting, held June 15 and 16 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The seminar will cover the court-annexed arbitration process, including applicable rules, as well as provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of best practices—and pitfalls—when serving as an advocate in such proceedings. Attorney Clarke will moderate the workshop and Attorney McBurney will be a featured speaker. Attorney Clarke earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law, and was Assistant Editor of the Law Review (2013-2014). She is a recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in several subjects, including in Business Planning, Contracts, Evidence, Property and Sales. Attorney Clarke also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Justice William P. Robinson III of the Rhode Island Supreme Court and as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Providence, RI. She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and is a member of the Board of the Rhode Island Women’s Bar Association and a member of the Rhode Island Bar Journal Editorial Board. Attorney Clarke is a member of PLDO’s Corporate & Business, Litigation, Employment Law and Trusts & Estates teams.
Attorney McBurney earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and was Associate Managing Editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. He is a recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Constitutional Law. Attorney McBurney also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Associate Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg of the Rhode Island Supreme Court and for the Honorable Associate Justice Michael Silverstein of the Rhode Island Superior Court. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Minnesota.
