Join in Our 4th Anniversary Celebration

Celebrating is good for the soul. This year please join the PLDO team as we recognize the firm’s fourth anniversary and thank our clients and the communities we serve. Most importantly, we are grateful for the hard work and loyalty of all of the lawyers and staff, without whom we could not have achieved this level of success.

This is certainly a time to appreciate our families and friends who have supported us from the start-up in 2006, through this time of celebration. Our journey has been exciting and the future promises to be without bounds as we remain true to one of the stated goals at PLDO, i.e., “to achieve the efficiencies of a business rather than operate simply as a law firm doing business.”

As on of the greatest athletes of all time Arthur Ashe coined; “success is a journey, not a destination..” we thank all those who have helped us along the way and we are looking forward to many more great years ahead.

PLDO “breaks” down more walls toward success

At PLDO we are dedicated to practicing law in a fully integrated environment to search for and deliver cost-effective, solutions for our clients. We have managed to remove some of the obstacles to best practices in our profession and at the same time we have constructed walls as we expand our Providence office in order to continue growing with our clients. We have enjoyed a planned and steady growth pattern during our first four years in business both in Rhode Island and New York and we will continue to manage this growth systematically and efficiently in the future.

The most recent expansion is further evidence of a steady, planned growth during challenging economic times and was the product of a comprehensive and coordinated effort led by David Sweet, Director of Administration, Eliot D. Finn of R-Keough Construction Inc. and Lerner Ladds & Bartles of Providential office environment for staff and clients. We have now transformed 21,770 square feet of former mill space into a highly visible and friendly professional office environment. Read More…

Estate Planning Check-up for 2010

The cliche, “time doesn’t stand still” is so true…especially when it comes to ever-changing life events that sometimes result in unwanted consequences if we have not properly prepared for them. From a legal perspective, “planning” is essential and in the area of estate planning the so-called annual review is essential to a comprehensive estate plan that works. Marriage, divorce, birth of a child or grandchild, purchase or sale of a home, starting a business or planning a retirement should all be a reason to review your planning documents. Click here for important “estate planning check-up” questions you may want to consider in order to be prepared.

Forging Quality of Life Partnerships

There are many ways PLDO attorneys support the good work of our nonprofit organizations, like volunteering on boards, helping raise money and awareness and sharing our expertise and knowledge when called upon. Most recent is our $1,500.00 gift to support the 8th Annual Women of Excellence Awards Luncheon for the Women’s Center of Rhode Island and its mission to end interpersonal violence throughout education, court advocacy and programs that provide shelter for victims of domestic violence.

PLDO is also a $2,500.00 sponsoring law firm in Rhode Island with the Roger Williams University School of Law’s Pro Bono Collaborative, and will work with a team of law students and the Collaborative to help establish The Rhode Island Dream Center, an affiliate of Providence’s Praise Tabernacle Church, which seeks to feed and shelter the homeless and so much more.
