PLDO Principal William E. O’Gara to Address Human Resource Management-RI Breakfast Networking Event
PLDO Principal William E. O’Gara, chair of the firm’s Employment and Litigation Teams, will be the featured speaker at the Human Resource Management of Rhode Island (HRM-RI) Breakfast Networking Meeting on April 19, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI. Attorney O’Gara’s presentation is entitled, “Implementing Reductions in Force in a Humane and Legal Manner” which will address the decision-making process and consequential legal concerns faced by human resource executives when companies restructure, which can result in employee lay-offs. Attorney O’Gara, who leads the firm’s Employment and Litigation teams, has over 20 years of experience as a labor and employment law practitioner with significant experience in litigating civil and administrative law matters before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and frequently appears before the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Occupational Safety and Health, the Rhode Island Commission on Human Rights and the Massachusetts Commission against Discrimination. He represents employers in matters ranging from sexual harassment to retirement issues, to defending wrongful termination and discrimination claims, contract negotiations and matters of union representation. Mr. O’Gara is a frequent lecturer in his area of expertise and contributor and editor of human resource and personnel policy handbooks and guides for small and large private and public sector entities.
